Excellent news...hopefully he gets his steering wheel through UK customs too.

Stick him on the bench for Spurs and give him a few minutes once we are 3-up.

As the other Doug would have said it’s like a new signing

According to Google Translate...

Despite the delay, visa issuance was received with relief as Dougas believes the women in Brum are more attractive then in Rio.

Pretty good translation, just missed out a bit.

His surname is, as posted earlier, pronounced louISE with the emphasis on the second syllable, or in a Rio accent, lu-EESH.

We thought we would be able to get a work permit while they couldn't because one of the criteria is that he must be among the top x% of wage earners at the club, which is going to be a lot easier at Villa than at Man City. If it comes down to the club having to plead their case, we would also be more able to demonstrate that he is likely to. Have a significant first team role.
thanks for the explanation - seems clearer now
Also looks like he is on his way ...good news if he is

Is a visa the same as a WP?

Is a visa the same as a WP?

Visa is the global term for permission to enter the recipient state. Work Permit is the specific type of visa.

If you enter the US to go on holiday by way of example, then they'll staple a tourist visa into your passport. Youd need a green card (work permit) to work there legally.

Getting ready for the UK.

I honestly think this bloke is (going to be) the real deal.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if he got some minutes on Saturday regardless of the fact he will only have been here a few days.

Cheers Ads. Sorry if I’m being thick. So this specific visa will allow him to work?

I agree, give it a couple of months and I think he'll be a massive part of the team. From everything I've seen he's got the makings of a world class deep playmaker.

Yes so for example when I worked in the US I had to first qualify for VISA and the specific VISA provided me with a permit to work for the company that applied for the VISA on my behalf. So in this instance he can enter the UK to work for Villa. If we sold he would have to go through the process again.

Jack, SJM and Luiz is going to be quite some midfield...flanked by 2 wingers and Big Wes up front. Any one getting excited yet?! 😁

On a side note, when was the last time we had a midfield unit looking this strong?

In this case "visto de trabalho" refers to a work permit. Brazilians don't need a Visa to enter the UK (at least not until Oct. 31).
