Blimey, this seems to be a longer tail than anything Emmerdale has to offer.

How come the work permit is taking so long?

I reckon this is our most important signing. I am starting to get a bit concerned.

This and Marvellous are the key transfers due to where they play on the pitch.  No way can we go into the season with Hourihane in there, great though he was last season, this is a different level and he's not up to it.

Have other teams been getting work permits more quickly? Established internationals at top fifty ranked nations should do automatically. Others shouldn't be getting pushed through before ours.

You'd think they might get extra staff in for the last couple of weeks of the transfer window.

I expect Hot Lips to start at Tottenham as these guys won't be ready.

Annoyingly, when we had a Villa fan as Home Secretary they still couldn't wait to fast-track Arshavin's application through and shaft us out of the top four.

Probably down to lack of resources at the Home Office.....Tory austerity measures coming to the fore! Most civil service departments have suffered severe job cuts....thanks Theresa May and fuck-off!

One thing I understood at a very early age thanks to the Aston Villa News & Record was the team starting the first game looked completely different to the team that finished the season.

I'm beginning to think the same.  In order for either to start, they need a run out on Saturday and this is looking increasingly unlikely unless something goes through today.

I'm not comfortable with either Conor or Engels playing there.  It's a key position against one of the best teams in Europe, away from home.

Seemed like we got Wesley's much quicker than this.
