Me too, he’s just what we need and might well be the difference between being good or actually very very good.

His personal trainer just posted a pic of him in the gym on instagram 'preparing him for the premier league' and tagged the Villa account.

So it's 100% happening. Right?

Not sure he's on twitter and he tends to post more on the music threads these days.

Fair enough mate, thanks.  Hopefully that picture of Douglas training and the tag to Villa (ish) means that this is happening.  this guy will put 5,000 extra on each home gate.

That's great news, hopefully this gets confirmed soon and, once it is, I'd be happy with our midfield options, just a winger/striker (I really liked the look of Leao but he's gone elsewhere) and then a keeper if we can get a major upgrade. There would still be a few players we'd want to replace but you can't replace 15-16 players in a single window, it's just too much churn, even the work we've done now makes me nervous but at least Mings, Hause, El Ghazi have played for us before and Knosa and Jota have worked with Smith, that mitigates things to an extent. I'd much prefer to be making 2-3 signings (for the first team, can sign as many kids as they want) per window though really.

The thought of Douglas Luiz in the same midfield as Jack Grealish

And SJM. That’s a central midfield of real quality.

I can't see this transfer not happening.

MCFC pushing him to sign, so that he gets a Work Permit.

Luiz thinking that if i sign, i get a Work Permit and Premier League football.

AVFC get to sign Douglas Luiz.

Each and every agenda is satisfied.

and, I suspect, a fair bit of steel as well, all 3 seem to have that same overarching desire to win, and have fun doing it. I think it's true for a lot of our squad now and is why I'm really looking forward to seeing how this team progresses.

It will be great when he tells 2nd placed Man City to get fucked in 2 years because he's staying with the champions, Aston Villa.

If they have a but back thing that wont happen. What I am concerned about is the coming season and will he help to keep us up
