Unfortunately what I got from that is mentally Konsa is not that strong.

You mean, he's more human than you thought. As are a lot of players, with complicated backgrounds, who've come from nothing and yet....

Yes, but when he was "begging West Ham players not to score" rather then resolving to not let them score, unfortunately he came across as I mentioned.

Harsh. He was 22, just got into the team and it had gone to the wire on the last day of the season.

He'll start - the last few games he's been imperious. I do wish he would cut out the falling over a little too easy mind you.

The irony being, he's much more likely to get a foul at International level than he is in the premier league.

He's pretty much our only player who knows how to get free kicks. When you're backed into a corner, that's pretty useful.

Quietly and consistently excellent.

Another from this tremendous team on their way to Villa Legend status.

From the BBC's get to know the England Squad.

Quote
Konsa played the second-most minutes (555) of any outfield England player during the World Cup qualifiers, behind Harry Kane. It culminated in him equalling the record of 11 straight wins by an England defender, set by Bob Crompton of Blackburn Rovers in 1910.

Of defenders to play 30 or more Premier League games this season, only Virgil van Dijk has been dribbled past on fewer occasions than Konsa’s four.
He has also drawn by far the most fouls (337) of any Premier League defender since his debut in October 2019.

Described scoring his first goal for England in Serbia last October as a “moment I will never forget”.

He featured three times at Euro 2024, starting against Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

He's too good for England, should have taken the option to play for Portugal if he fancied winning something at international level.

I still keep reading pieces that claim a fit John Stones is a 'shoe in', is he bollocks, Guehi and Konsa are the 1st choice pair by miles.

Stones is a quality player, but was always a bit ropey defensively anyway.

Konsa has played as the left CB when Stones has been fit and playing that position. Maybe not now Guehi is the choice there though.
