Konsa can fuck off as far as I am concerned, the flakiness is bad enough, but combined with the 'not my fault / finger pointing' attitude, it's not on.

Agree with this - he has really pissed me off this season and it has really begun since he was part of the England squad discussion.

This surprises me. He's still our best defender and I'd rather him be demanding than shrug his shoulders and say "ah well, we always concede"

Yeah there's some more weird projection going on here,  again. We don't know what Konsa is saying on the pitch. Reminds me of when we went down and half the forum wanted players castigated for frowning/not frowning enough. Criticise performances if you must, but just making stuff up doesn't help your argument.

It's not him being demanding, it is him pointing at other people in 'anger' when it's largely his fault we just conceded.

We are all demanding, and seeking always to improve our levels, with the support of our supporters, anyway.

Strikes me as the sort of person and player Tuchel will like . I reckon he’ll start tonight.

Tuchel likes a back 3 and with Konsa showing he can play right back or right centre back, there's a good chance he'll be a big part of his plans.

Definitely feels as though him and Guehi are the players who currently "have the shirt".

Unless he's really dropped the ball in training or Tuchel has a hard-on for Colwill from his Chelsea days you'd think that'll be the centre-back pairing until something comes up that means it shouldn't be.

Thinking about it, he'll probably play Kyle Walker right of the 3 instead of Konsa.

Tuchel also likes communicators - Konsa is a communicator .
It’s why i’m so surprised Mingsy was left out.

Thomas Tuchel has apparently underlined the importance he attaches to communication by showing his squad a graph detailing how interactions reduced significantly in the second half of the Euro 2024 final defeat by Spain.

Konsa did well against fairly limited opposition, though he is not a communicator (IMO).

He's become exceptional at pointing and banging his fists on the turf when a goal is conceded - but that is neither communication or 'passion'.

As others have pointed out, he is significantly less effectively when not paired with an organiser like Mings. UTV

I think that's an unfair appraisal of an excellent player who played very well last night.

I think Konsa is a very good player - not yet 'excellent' though potentially capable of reaching that level.

The point I was trying to make was that in terms of his style of play and strengths - communication is not a strength, IMO.

In one-on-one duels he is excellent. He's also great at blocking shots.

He is less good dealing with long high balls or balls played in behind him when he has to turn, and he's certainly guilty (sometimes) of watching the ball and losing his man - Chelsea at home being a recent example.
