I know Chambers was poor at Old Trafford but that was playing on the left and receiving the ball a lot under pressure on his weaker side with Nervous Nerys in goal.

On previous form he deserves a go alongside Mings on his favoured side over Konsa, at least until Carlos is fit again.

Have to credit Konsa as I feel he's enormously improved again under Emery having lost his way with Gerrard.
Its encouraging hes eager to learn.

No, you dont' have to credit him when he hasn't played for a week and a half.

I see the narrative now is:

good player : studious
bad player : thick as mince

Absolutely shocking today. A minor miracle we kept a clean sheet with his performance.

I have no idea what was going through his mind when he decided the best thing to do was flick that wayward shot back across goal from a prone position.

Seemed to be our talisman with his performances in the empty stadium Covid days… alas regression since apart from the odd good performance here and there.

It wasn’t long ago we were calling for him to get an England call up, so that standard is there.
I think we just need that top quality consistency and we have our Ezri back.
There’s a very good player there

Needs to be first on the list to go this summer.

It doesn't matter if he improves his form, he's never going to be even remotely good enough on the ball to play the way Emery wants to.

He certainly needs to put more punch into his passes to play the way Emery wants to.

Unfortunately that’s the way I see it. A different manager with a different system he may have a future, but not under Emery.

I thought that for a long time but if anything he is getting worse. Bullied physically throughout in any duels or contested balls. Won't close down attackers properly. Let's balls bounce for no reason. That's before his increasingly painful limitations with the ball.

He’s always been best suited to the last-gasp-block style of defending and does/did it very well. However, he looks desperately uncomfortable where the emphasis is on playing the ball out from the back, it’s just not his game.

It won't be long before Diego Carlos replaces Konsa to partner Tyrone Mings. I think that'll be UE's first choice centre back pairing.
