I think he has potential as a centre half.

He's not a right back, so why he's played the majority of the last three games there is beyond me.

Well I guess Guilbert is out injured and Konsa does give us a bit more height defending set pieces where we were getting rinsed

But it was fairly apparent from the game v Sheff Utd, that a) he isnt even a good defender and b) simply dreadful with the ball, Cuellar esque

Agreed with the OP, Brentford took the piss out of us on this guy, no idea what potential Smith saw in him

He's a good defender with lots of potential.

honestly, what facet(s) of his play shows potential?

Life is genuinely too short to discuss it further, from my perspective. I wish you well.

It's his first season after making the step up to this division  and overall, I think he's done ok. He's still got  a lot to learn but I think he's worth persevering with.

Yep, agree he has shown potential, but should have been 3rd or 4th choice this season and bedded in slowly.

He hasn't been afforded that luxury unfortunately and has struggled at times.

Yep, he has done okay but he has been part of a defence that has conceded all but 2 goals every game.  So he does have a lot learn but I just wonder who out of current set up is he going to learn it from.

He’ll be good next season playing on the right of the CB two alongside Hause. We will have to buy better in 2021/22 when we come up again.

He didn't have a great game granted, but he was played out of position and Smith singles him out for criticism in his post match interview. Poor management , you're on a loser when that happens.

Agreed Franky. But it's also what I expect from a manager struggling with the role.

Wasn't aware of this. Dreadful man management aside, Konsa is a long way down the list of who should be blamed for that goal. The man/men responsible for organising our defence all season should be in the firing line first.

he's lost it and looks more desperate by the day. God knows what he'll come out with on Saturday at 3pm

Yeah quite, to single him out for blame when the goal was a clusterfuck and our best defender was also out of position looks a bit pathetic and cowardly.

Ultimately he's got to sense the danger and tuck in quicker. Newcastle can't score from the touchline but Gayle centrally can and Konsa was nearest to him.

Yeah, it was classic ball-watching by all. Maybe our lot couldn't believe that Andy Carroll had the ability to tread through a beautiful pass along the ground but it was really poor, basic stuff that took four or five of our players out of the play.

It's not fucking cowardly.  Why are people so desperate to throw that insult about on here?  He's called out a player who he thinks made a mistake.  I think most of us believe he's wrong, but that doesn't make him cowardly.
