Konsa starts tonight v Finland. A match where he unlikely to have to showcase his defensive abilities perhaps not so much however he can show his general assured performance and passing and main thing is hoping stats clear of injury

"Ezri Konsa came off injured in England's win over Finland tonight, but interim manager Lee Carsley said the centre-back "looked OK" after full-time."

Says Townley from the evening mail

He played very well in the bits I saw before he went off.

Thought he did ok. Looked fine when he was walking off which means he'll be out until March.

Why didn't they bring him off as soon as he was injured. Instead he played on, hobbling around, for another 5 minutes.

Down to the player I suspect. He told them it was easing and he could walk it off. Also some people stated the initial ankle knock was over, it was over 10 mins later when he told them he was struggling with something else and they then took him off.

Sorry, shouldn't this be in the International Duty thread?

Other Games and probably "What is wrong with you?" in OT.

If an international player is injured whilst on duty - can they club charge for their earnings etc

Clubs receive compensation when players are injured on international duty.

I rather Konsa rested for Tuesday and have Bogarde or even Swinkels at the back alongside Torres.
If Carlos is out injured.

If he’s fit for Saturday he can also be fit for Tuesday too.

Konsa offering a goal threat and scoring is something great to see.
Well played with the goal and how he guided it in
Maybe he can 5+ or so goals this season.

Last season in an interview with Rio Ferdinand Konsa said how much Emery made impact on him as a player but also as a person.

Today yet again spoke like a true leader, hes a  man of the club and with respect on his motd interview. Touch of class mentioning the wins for Shaw this week.
