As we now look to rebuild we know that for some of players, it'll be bon voyage. Some obviously, as is inevitable in Footy, won't be missed. But some will.
I'm going to work on assumption (and hope) that we'll be signing Mings, El Ghazi and Tammy in the summer. McGrath willing.
But, I think we've inevitably seen the last of:
Hutton, Whelan and Jedinak. Big personalities. Big players. It's not always been the best time for them here. But they've all become cult heroes to varying degrees in their time. Jedinak played a part in getting us to the final. Whelan, for Smith has been excellent. He's had a good season.
Hutton is one of the ultimate turnaround stories at the club. A rare bright spot across years of drudgery. Absolutely top fucking class professional. There's only one Scottish Cafu. THAT goal will stay with the lot of us til our final day. Bloody love Hutton and as we sit and (hopefully) enjoy our return to the big league there will actually come a moment when I suddenly feel an absense of a certain chrome-domed BraziliScott marauding down the wing. Yes, the cross didn't always go where quite intended, but the man is class.
So cheers boys. God-speed, best of luck and a thoroughly hand damaging round of applause on your way out.
Likewise, I'd love to see Axel stay but I think he'll get his shot at Utd. He's come of age, but well done the lad. Good luck to him, I think he'll be an excellent player.
