My daughter has arrived with the gang for the weekend (It's bank holiday here and her mother's birthday) and she has shown me a couple of clips from Monday that she had on her 'phone, clips I haven't seen on here. One is of Dean Smith addressing the squad in the dressing room after the game and expressing his thanks etc, and the other taken by Ian Taylor of Villa fans outside singing ' There's only one Ian Taylor'.  Lovely stuff.

A bit late and might have been posted elsewhere last week but I thought this year review posted before the weekend was clever and poignant with a very very nice touch at the end.

Any chance of a link for those of us not on Facebook?

Spreading the joy!!

Sandylands Methodist Church, Kendal.

Damn - I drove past there last night on way home and missed it! Was pouring down with rain mind!
Hi cumbriavilla, did you go to Wembley or were you the other Villa fan in KCC with my son?
The flag is still there but has got caught up in the gutter at the moment.

No, it wasn't me - I was watching the game at home - there must be other Villa fans out there in Kendal!

I used to have a girlfriend from Cumbria who was a Villa fan, nearly 30 years ago.  No, it wasn't her.

Cumbria has the nicest motorway service station in the country at Tebay.
Used to have three football league clubs, now only one.
Stan Laurel was a Cumbrian.

Compare and contrast with Lampard in the dressing room after their semi-final win. I have no axe to grind with Lampard (politics aside) or Derby, but the difference does highlight that a bit of distance from the troops, even in victory, is probably a more sensible approach.

Or I could be talking nonsense again.
