This time yesterday...just getting the train. Brilliant day, just wish we could do it all again,

We were the better team, could not believe how many fans we had in the ground compared to Derby.

That was a long 7 minutes of injury time...

It must be an age thing, because I ache all over!

That was just perfect yesterday, didn't get home till late and feel like I actually played the game this morning I'm so sore!!

Met several fellow H&Vers in the Swiss Cottage, chatted with strangers along the way.

Shed a couple of tears at the end with my lad. We've been through a lot of shit, for a long time. Our club is back where it belongs.

Brilliant day at Wembley. Strange game, pitch seemed a bit dry?, but deserved win. Don't think we were anywhere near our best but we did enough. On a day when the likes of Grealish struggled, lesser lights like Elmo, Hourihane and El Ghazi were superb. McGinn was excellent in second half. We stopped playing for about 10 mins when cruising and Derby got back into it. Strange team selection from Lampard didn't help the Derby cause and they were very poor late rally aside.

Huge job of work over the summer. Mings is a must buy but the club is far stronger now.

Steer 7, Elmo 8, Tuanzebe 6, Mings 7, Taylor 5, Hourihane 7, McGinn 8, Grealish 6, El Ghazi 9, Abraham 6. Green 5, Hause 6.

More or less with you, thought it was a toss up between El Ghazi and Elmo for MOM whilst McGinn was incredible second half. However, thought Hause was a TEN. Brilliant cameo, got his head  on the end of every cross and headers went a mile. Commanding stuff, if anything, was even better than Tyrone.

Well said. I thought I was the only one who noticed.

I also had moto for El Ghazi or Elmo.
I said to my lad and brother that Hauser was excellent in his 10 minute cameo.
Bit harsh on Green, didn't have a great deal to do as the main bulk of our play came down the left.

Great day yesterday and quite emotional. Was driven there and back  by my son, a provisional license holder (non motorway route only). Breakfast with my family in Watford where my daughter lives. Drinks on the green. Gave up my ticket to my daughter who was absolutely thrilled to receive it and saw Villa win at Wembley for her 1st time. Watched the match in Flannery's Bar with my wife and many fellow Villans. The scenes in there at FT were brilliant. After match drinks in the Holiday Inn preceded my son driving us back home for midnight. Met many great Villans throughout the day. The team were fantastic as were the management, prince Will and John Carew! An unforgetable day for my family and one we will always cherish. UTV!

My mate and his son were staying in the Wembley Hilton and invited me and another mate back for a drink after the game. Bloody Hell.....the team were there celebrating. They had a private lounge, but loads of the team drifted out to celebrate with the fans in the foyer.Mings was still in full kit 😁.Finally had to leave as had train to catch back to Brum, looked to my left and realised I was stood by Dean Smith, shook his hand , he was very gracious to any fan who approached him.Great end to a great day.
Up the Villa

Every miserable second of the last 9 years was worth it yesterday. Just a wonderful day. We’ve got our club back and it’s just fantastic.

Not a great game but Dean tucked them up tactically, with Jack being very closely marked he and Taylor freed up a lot of space for El Ghazi and he used that freedom very well. I thought that we were pretty comfortable all the way through and wasn’t too concerned even in the last 10 mins.

Derby fans all seemed fine although a large group of what I imagine were their more excitable element drinking very close in Kilburn could have had a less calm outcome.

Good atmosphere, great result. Lots to do now.

I wish they’d have given the tannoy music a rest at the end though.

The most disgusting train journey I have ever endured. We have utter retards as "fans"
Never again.

What happened mate?

Was told there were a load of Villa fans drinking on a green when the players coach went past. Singing, chanting fantastic. A few minutes later a Derby supporter's coach drove past, bottles thrown etc, frightening.

what a mad few months. 10 wins in a row to cement the playoffs. Beat the bitter baggies over two legs to reach the final. Cruising at 2-0 and hunting a third, but let Derby back into it, setting up a nerve jangling last 15-20 mins. 7 minutes of injury time. Villa don’t do things by halves do we?

Much as it has been a crazy drama unfolding over the weeks, I don’t think I could physically handle another playoffs!

Not sure what happened with the tickets, but seemed like loads of empty seats in the Derby side bit second half. Villa were very loud on TV. You only really heard and competing singing early on and just after they scored. I’m guessing the atmosphere would’ve been fantastic in the Villa areas. Sounded great on telly.

Thought we dominated Derby without really too much fuss. Their right hand side was the only threat they seemed to carry and we looked a bit suspect, but rarely in serious danger.

Mad scenes with the prince and Carew. Deano, jack and all the players afterwards. Some real good behind the scenes shots with them inside the stand waiting to go up to get the trophy. Got to bed at 2.30 am and up at 6.30 for work. Been spaced all day, but 100% worth it!!

What a day, great day with my lad even though couldn't get him a ticket in the end - he watched in Flannery's too.  The one thing I want to note is that in the ground, we didn't have a single SOTC, My Old man and only one "Birmingham are you listening" from what I recall.  So pleased the fanbase saw it as about us not them whilst the game was on.

In March the guy who sits behind me in the North Stand said he had booked his Wembley hotel. In April he confirmed he had got his train tickets. At half time in the home semi final, and one nil down against WBA, he said we would win 2-1.
Incredible belief. Thank you, Nostradamus.

Yesterday was just immense. I've got a slight dodgy throat, caught a little bit too much sun and the back of my leg hurts from where I bashed it against the chair after the first goal. (limbs I believe the kids call it). I was really surprised at the Derby team sheet. Not playing one of your best two strikers was a crazy thing to do in a game like that but taking nothing away from us, I thought we played really well overall. I don't think anyone had a bad game. As for those last 10-15 minutes, they were just horrendous. I was sitting down not looking whenever they went forward, I couldn't take it.

We're back!

What a day, so nervous before and for those added mins, could not watch.
Good to meet some of the H&Vs lot in the Swiss Cottage for a beer.

We're on our way, we're on our way, to the Premier League, we're on our way.
How we get there? Beat Derby.
How we get there? At Wembley.
Now I know the Villa's on our way.
