Just read the SHA forum if you want a laugh. Oh the bitterness!

Had a quick look, most seemed to be distraught they won 100-300 quid in bets they can spend on home improvements in their Worcs. shires.

What a fucking day! On the train back with a load of Derby fans. Just phenomenal, and I now consider Mr Sexual Ealing and his cousin as brothers from another mother.

I don't really care what they think to be honest.

So pleased with that, a deserved victory. Keep Ming's, Axel and ElGhazi. Would also keep Hause.

Smith mentioned how wealthy the owners are, I think he will have a big budget next season.

Abraham? Or have Chav$ki recalled him?

This may not be the time or place, but I'd be happy for us not to spend big money on Abraham.

When the whistle went I was like’Yes, we’re fucking promoted’, and I realised it was the first time I’d thought about it all game. Weird.

Uptowm bruv if yer about

Staying in mate, New York on Thursday.

Why are you going to the Rotherham ground on Thursday? Nostalgic for the old Championship grounds we used to play at already?  ;)

Word has just reached the Small Heath Alliance site that the Birmingham Central Library will be lit up claret and blue tonight. No prizes for guessing how that news has gone down.

Wow, what a great day. Didn't get off to a good start - every time we go to Wembley I park at Hillingdon station and get the tube to Wembley Park - got to Hillingdon normal time and it was completely full. Fortunately, for the first time ever, I had a plan B,C and D and got parked at my plan B tube station and from then on it was a fantastic day. Thought Fwank got his tactics wrong - and so did most of the Derby fans on the way back after the game. If he'd started with Waghorn and Marriott it may have been a different result - they threw the kitchen sink at us for the last 15 minutes and we did well to survive the onslaught after being the better team for the rest of the game. The despair when the board went up showing 7 minutes was surpassed by the absolute elation when the final whistle went. Great to see Wills on the big screens celebrating with big John. Back to the land of hype and money!

Maybe it's the beer talking. But I think today is the final purge of MON from our system. We are clean.

Sitting very happy in a kings cross pub - relaxed first half, though grealish had thrown it away with that cross pass to no one. Otherwise great first half and brilliant 2 saves from steer and it was ours. Thank god for that. Talking to a few derby fans after Marriott got caught on a sickie playing golf - that could have won us the match. I’ll have a few more tonight!

A great game, which Derby contributed to equally. You don’t enjoy a game like that, it shreds your nerves – you do enjoy the result. I would like to know why the referee played sixteen hours, and not sixteen minutes after Derby scored. Both sets of fans were magnificent with good humour before- and after.

I predicted that a single goal would decide the game, and so it proved.

The lower half of the PL will not be pleased at Villa’s return, the Champ will miss our crowds, and the promotion aspiring teams would rather Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff to deal with without Villa in the mix.

Tonight is about celebration. But when the hangovers clear there will be much to reflect upon.

This is a successful Villa side, it has won promotion. However, no-one would claim that this is a great side. We are no match for the Wolves side that won promotion.

Will Grealish stay? Should he stay? Rumour has it that whatever happens Spurs, possible European Champions, certainly offering CL football, offering guaranteed PL football, and with a bigger wage budget ,will sign him. On the pitch, Grealish is  a game changer. Yet the team will need changing and the £40m that he will command could be usefully reinvested, as can his PL wages.

Dean Smith has done fantastic a job – but he is a PL novice, will he adapt? Will he be given time to adapt? Should Villa make a pre-emptive move for a PL veteran? I hope he does adapt – but he will not be given time if results are adverse towards Christmas and relegation is on the horizon.  Romance is for Mills and Boon. Credit to Steve Bruce for bringing in John McGinn (amongst others), just as important to us as Grealish.

Then there are the loanees. Particularly Tammy Abraham.  A Chelsea transfer embargo and /or Lampard going to the Bridge will pretty much guarantee his leaving. However, Tammy likes playing and scoring, if the circumstances are right securing him secures goals, a vital commodity in our first season back. He will also have one eye on England – playing for Villa, is better than not playing for Chelsea.

The rumours are that we will fall foul of  EFL FFP rules. But they don’t apply in the PL so best not get relegated!

Strangely, I will be sorry to leave the Champ. We won loads of games, took massive travelling support to some great places, and enjoyed big home gates.  Leeds, Blues, Forest and Derby away are much more fun than Bournemouth, Burnley, Palace and Watford. Of course I want to compete with the best, but those last five PL seasons were no fun, the past three have been.

We’re back.

When passing the Sty on the train into Moor Street station, a beautiful rainbow overhead was putting Bl*es in their place. Disappointed the Wembley arch didn't light up claret and blue, though, after the game :'(
