Oh my God! due to a long standing commitment I had to take my best mate to the dentist today as he's undergoing dental implants and as he doesn't drive I've been taking him.  I had to collect him from his workplace at 3pm and didn't get home until 5:20.  I had maintained a media blackout all afternoon as my nerves wouldn't have stood it.  As I walked through our door Mrs S asked had I heard the score whilst using a sad face, she couldn't keep it up though and I knew then that we had won.  Aston Villa, you have made an old man very happy today.

I've been on the phone ever since, first to my lad over in England, then my daughter and my three grandsons.  I'm absolutely elated.  My daughter reminded me that I said when we were relegated that it would be at least three years before we got back.  Mystic Meg I 'aint.

Well done to everyone connected to the club for all your efforts this season but a very special well done to all you supporters for standing by us through thick and thin, let's hope that the good times are again about to roll.

So pleased with that, a deserved victory. Keep Ming's, Axel and ElGhazi. Would also keep Hause.

Smith mentioned how wealthy the owners are, I think he will have a big budget next season.

I said it before at the end of Randy's reign, but we needed to go down. We were rotting.

Not to pick holes in a day like today, but there can never be an argument for going down.

Lerner was ultimately a duff owner, so what we needed was better ownership in the topflight.

Not the Prince of Polyester turning up in his Burton suit and shoes from Bacons in 2016, trying to take us all for mugs.

Anroad, those things are but a distant memory.  Thank Christ.

Special mention for the empty Derby seats.
We could have had them.

That last 15 minutes I thought my old man was going to have to call 999 the speed my heart was beating, so so happy, was in floods of tears at the end. Back where we belong, with a Villa fan in charge, a Villa fan as captain, beautiful.

At home getting steadily sloshed, enjoy the game - won't tell you the result but I think you'll like it.

Although he didn't play today, Glenn Whelan made probably the most important single contribution in the whole season to our promotion.

His last minute penalty miss in the 3-3 draw against Preston was the final nail in Bruce's coffin.

He was sacked 2 days later and .......

Here we are today.

Thanks Glenn.

..

Good point.

We always knew Derby were going to throw everything at us, and those last 15 mins were heart in mouth, but makes the win sweeter.

Right, excuse me while I restart my ticker  ;D
