Mings' tackle that led to his injury was an outstanding moment also.
I don't think they score if he doesn't injure himself there. Very unfortunate for the big man. He was immense again today. I'll be genuinely gutted if he's not starting next season in a Villa shirt. Don't for the love of god, anyone tell Bournemouth what they're missing!

I think he’s been carrying an injury for a while.

Although he didn't play today, Glenn Whelan made probably the most important single contribution in the whole season to our promotion.

His last minute penalty miss in the 3-3 draw against Preston was the final nail in Bruce's coffin.

He was sacked 2 days later and .......

Here we are today.

Thanks Glenn.

Got to say, Connor has come on a lot in the last 6 months. He's always had a lot of quality and produced 'the sexy stats' but I've noticed him getting more aggressive, a bit meaner and just tougher of late and it's making him a better player. It's meaning he's impacting games more, outside of hitting belters or his assists rate. I think he'll do well in the Prem. He'll be an important player for us and he compliments McGinn and Jack well too.
Agreed. I’ve been one of his biggest critics this season, but first half especially, I thought he bossed it and was probably our best midfielder until SJM came into it more in the second half. Congrats for making us eat humble pie Conor 👏🏼

I've downed 6 beers in the last 2 hours - no effect
I've smoked 20 fags in the last 2 hours - nerves shredded.
Cried like a baby when the whistle went.
For the first time in my supporting history we have 2 x owners that can spend with the big boys.
Villa supporters as Manager & Captain.
I'm ecstatic and will feel like shit tomorrow, couldn't give a toss.

Congratulations to everybody at the Club.  How they have turned this around in such a short space of time, I will never know.  Confidence is often underplayed but it is massive in football and it has been turned around by Dean Smith and his coaching team.

I have always been confident of us going up if we played to our potential but I think we have tensed up, the closer we have got to the end of the season.

We are back and I am so happy.  All hail the cabbage!!

Just like to say a big, big thank you to our goalkeeper. Just think, if Potato Head had got his way, Jed Steer may have been elsewhere before we started our unbeaten run. Hope he gets a chance in the PL.

Wept at the final whistle.

Promoted with supposedly the 3rd richest owners in English football, and villa fans as manager and captain. Never thought we’d be in this position even 3 short months ago!

Dreams really do come true. Onto the next chapter.

UP THE VILLA

I reckon Anwar was our best player over the three play off games.  I don't know if he'll be here next season but he's played a massive part in us going up.

It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, we needed to go this season and to do so with Smith in charge as well as with Jack and SGM in the side feels that little bit more special.

Of the loan lads I hope we sign Mings and Axel as well as El Ghazi, we have the makings of a decent Premier league team but need some quality adding over the summer.

Well done boys, you have made my year!

Ladies and gentlemen, that noise you can hear is the sound of natural order being restored.

Aston Villa, you have shredded my nerves for decades - on days like today I wouldn't have you any other way!
