Or they can get away with charging a lot of money for a part of the stadium  with hyped premiumness. Good marketting I say.

They charge a lot of money for all parts of the stadium - The ones nearest the half way line are the most expensive at Wembley and also at every other ground in the country.

And also where Director's boxes, Royal boxes, and TV cameras are usually positioned at all grounds.

This is a genuine canvassing of opinion. I genuinely can't decide if what I'm thinking is out of order or an opportunity to do good.

I have an unexpected spare. My family and I have had season tickets for more years than I can remember,( and two out of three of us have done 15 aways this year). This year my son has been at Uni this year though we kept his season ticket up and he has attended when he can. However he initially asked me to get his ticket for Wembley before finding out he is unable to attend due to exams (yes, I would have still gone aswell  but he is WAY more conscientious than me. )

I want to sell the ticket to a genuine Villa fan who for whatever reason doesn't meet the sales criteria. It isn't the best ticket, it's in upper tier , cost £40 including booking fee etc . It isn't in hand yet but expected soon.

Question is this: there is a charity close to my heart that I would like to support. My idea is to release the ticket on evidence of a double the cost  donation to that charity ie £80 , with the buyer also being someone from here with proper Villa credentials. I would receive no payment for the ticket at all.

If the consensus is this is out of order then it gets sold face value and I'll give the money to the same charity, but clearly they only get half as much that way. Would welcome opinions and genuinely not sure what is right. Essentially what i'm asking is for the buyer pay for the ticket and also to give a donation to charity equivalent to the cost price of the ticket , and I will match that donation by not taking any money for the ticket I purchased in the first place.

Is it at all clear how many tickets are left?
Looking at what's available on the website, about 500. I'm hoping a few more become available, otherwise it's going to be a scramble at 5pm tomorrow.

I think you’re unnecessarily overcomplicating the sale of a spare ticket. Just sell at face value.

Ok. As I said just asking for opinions. If that's the consensus thats what happens.

I think your idea is very honourable and charitable, so please don’t take my opinion too much to heart. If you can find a buyer and raise money for charity then everyone is a winner. 👍

There are always touts looking to buy/sell tickets outside the ground but not as many as there used to be.

There were Fulham fans selling them outside the ground last season. There were also blokes offering to buy tickets too.

It's a very nice idea, and I don't think it's complicated.  Just ask for £80, and send it to a charity, everyone's a winner. Or ask them for proof that they've donated £80 somewhere, then send them it for nowt, same end result.

I'm on 5+ & haven't bought yet as wanted to go with someone on 3+. Do we think waiting for 5pm tomorrow's too much of a risk?

I think if you are ok now, as long as you are on it tomorrow should be ok, but it’s all a bit stressful eh? (I’ve done this before, but not without risk as this year not all 3+s are guaranteed according to the wording.)

Thanks, yes test of nerve! Still suspect I'll end up buying one about 4.30pm tomorrow.

What is the logic in holding blocks back for an event that will definitely sell out?
Precisely !
Just put the whole lot on sale from day 1 and let people chose.

I suspect though, it’s done to make posting easier?
Maybe it’s more difficult to sift through the tickets to post them in the order they are sold. If the order they are sold is restricted to certain ares, then picking and posting those tickets is much easier.
That’s my theory anyway.

I think you’ve sussed it
