Tammy had no space to work in due to their back 3. He got more involved as the game progressed and we pushed them back to the edge of their box so he was able to start linking with Jack and co.

I actually don’t blame them for their tactics today. If you’re away in the first leg and you’re gifted an early goal it doesn’t make much sense to keep pushing for a second.

Gayle didn't create any space, he's just lightning quick and could take advantage of the distances we leave between our defensive 5. I thought they were a shadow of their side that beat us. A big, ugly, Pulis shaped shadow.

Do you anticipate us parking the bus on Tuesday, then? It's shit, and it got them what it deserved.

I really hope Dean plays Kortney Hause instead of Taylor on Tuesday. I thought he was really good against Norwich last week.

Oh and shout out to their fans, who I thought were pathetic, amongst the worst away fans we've seen at Villa Park this season, barely a peep out of them.

They really are an odd bunch of weirdos too. Fat, middle aged blokes jumping up and down, shouting boing boing is always bad enough. What was proper weird though was when they all sarcastically clapped and cheered the announcement of the attendance of nearly 41,000. Er, what?

Surprised that the crowd was under 41,000 when supposedly a sell out??

I wouldn't put it past them to shithouse a goal out of nothing on Tuesday, despite not seeing any proof today that they can. Villa need to be a damn sight more switched on than they were today, particularly on that first half showing. Hourihane changed the game - Whelan was decent in that ticking over way of his (despite the horrorshow for their goal) but Conor gets his head up, looks who's available or who might be and is so much more dynamic.

No, it's not the end. But it might be the end of the beginning.

I thought we was ok, controlled but not enough drive. A few players not quite firing, however we was far the better side. A huge amount of luck for their goal but also for the sending off which was harsh. Right and fair rresult, well done Villa.

600 empty seats in the away end.

I haven’t seen or heard a post match interview with Deano yet.
Other than ‘yeah,no fuck the Albion’ has anyone heard what he had to say? I’d be interested to hear his thoughts on the first half.

Where in the ground could you have fitted another 1000 spectators in today?  Strange attendance announcement.
