Didn't the original playoffs feature the 3rd from bottom top flight team and then 3 from the old second division. I remember Charlton beating Leeds in the late 80s

Chelsea pitch invasion?
In a lot of cases I prefer that sort of system but when the higher league has such a huge financial advantage it wouldn't work.
In the good old days of mounted policemen on the playing surface.

Chelsea pitch invasion?I was living in London at the time and it was a bank holiday game - Chelsea were one nil down from the first game, Nevin scored for Chelsea cant think who got Middlesborough's goal. Biggest pitch invasion I have ever seen ( Chelsea. ) One of the reasons why I am so against the play offs.
we need a point to guarantee 5th. I think a poit against Leeds might suit both sides and I think rotating half the first team makes a lot of sense.I dont see Norwich posing the same risks to our teams shins...
Steer started on Monday.
