I'd rather be seen buying a copy of Readers' Wives than that rag.

The depressing thing is it's still the country's most popular paper.

With The Daily Mail a close second and both outsell The Guardian 9 or 10:1.

Those statistics are very apparent now with the birth of Social Media. You now realise nearly half the people you know, or I should say do not really know have some very nasty and narrow minded views and beliefs.

He is infamous for his long lens. Which reminds of a verse from the song "Generation Sex" by pop combo The Divine Comedy which is germane to the issue at hand.

Lovers watch their backs
As hacks
In macs
Take snaps
Through telephoto lenses
Chase Mercedes-Benzes through the night
A mourning nation weeps
And wails
But keeps
The sales
Of evil tabloids healthy
The poor protect the wealthy in this world

Somebody I know is a train driver. He hates the Sun with a passion for a variety of reasons. At one time he was taking over a train and saw a copy of the Sun in the cab. He called the departing driver back to remove it as he was not prepared to enter the cab and take the train over while that shitty rag was present. It goes without saying that he was not prepared to dirty his hands by picking it up an putting it in a bin. maybe Brum should boycott the Sun as the Scousers have been doing for years.

I buy the Sun occasionally. And I will continue to do so...

...As for J421. I have supported them with money, vigils and met the familes over the last 5 years ago and I have supported them ever since and will continue to do so. Very brave people who I hope they get the justice they are fighting for.

And yet you're happy to buy a paper that denigrates them and undermines their cause, the same paper that's vilified you as a football supporter and insulted a Villa legend. Even with that knowledge you've got no problem buying it. I wouldn't have thought you'd need to be told not to.

I hate the rag but I’d bristle if someone told me I couldn’t buy it

With respect I don't think anyone is telling you you can't buy it, they are just suggesting that you don't.

I loathe the paper, the people who put the shite in it and most of all, the cnut that owns it.

When I see anyone buy it, my mind is made-up that they must be the sort of person that just doesn't think too deeply about life in general.

Oh yeah  .  .  .  and they're probably as thick as shit.

I've stopped buying it any idea of a decent morning paper to buy instead ?

I like i. It's fairly unbiased and full of news with not too much opinion.

Meanwhile, my take on today's chip paper.

I used to get the Morning Star from a local co-op. The co-op near me doesn’t stock it, I never see it anywhere. Is it still about 10 pages? I gues I could joking the people’s press society, is that what the ownership is called. They always seem to make the fighting fund
