Farage supporter or former Leeds fan?

That night at DirtyLeeds where they'd been giving him stick all night was possibly my favourite awayday in the last few years when he went over at the end to applaud them and they totally lost their shit.

Fully agreed, that was delicious.

One of his best games for the club that night. Bamford (his career fell off a cliff) had roasted him earlier at Villa Park.

Mings has been a great signing for us but the worst case scenario is that he becomes a scapegoat as I know there are some in our fanbase (I have one such prat who sits in front of me) who relish him making any mistake to slag him off and prove they are great footballing minds.
I just can't see him becoming a scapegoat, I certainly hope not either, but he's just too well liked by the Villa fans......there's always a few who are different.
He's been one of our best signings in the last 15-20 years. He's on par with Mellberg for me.
He will be missed but as others have said, time is sadly catching up with him.

I love Tyrone Mings.

All this talk of him being done etc are well wide of the mark. He's shown enough since he came back to indicate he has what's needed, he just needs a bit of time to get properly match fit and it's unfortunate for him, and us, that he's had to be rushed back to play more games than he should as part of his comeback.

He'll be fine next season, and hopefully at the end of this, once he and Torres can share more game time, and when Konsa and Disasi are fully embedded too.

Also agree. The amount of games in a short time, after a serious injury have been a lot. He will be around for a while yet!! Hopefully he is fit for tomorrow.

I don’t think he’s done at all. I just think he’s a squad player and a very useful one at that.

I think they are all squad players in the modern game. Torres and Mings bring different qualities for different games that's all. I don't worry about either when fit.

Tyrone Mings, along with John McGinn, is emblematic of the club's renaissance since 2019.

Yes he is, and he is more than just a player, he is a leader around the club.

However, he's also 31, just recovered from a truly horrific injury, and having problems in the same knee.

I also don't think, much as I like him, he is at the level of a club who want to play in the CL more often than not, not anymore.

Bloke at Everton was calling him a fucking idiot all game last month. Few around me complaing on Sat, albeit with some justification. And someone at Leicester match saying "they've got a point" when they were singing the chant calling him fucking shit. So plenty of twats in our fanbase, in summary.

You are of course completely right but it is difficult to think of a player like Mings has been for us leaving.

The knee he injured in 2022 was his right. He went off Saturday holding his left knee.

Again.
That said, I agree with Paulie, we need to seriously upgrade the defence and I'm not convinced with either Mings or Torres. Both have their individual strengths but both have weaknesses. I've always thought when Tyrone eventually retires he'd be perfect for presenting MOTD.

Think you mean 2023?
