He seemed very coy on his return. Maybe he still a way off before he returns

Why? What did he say?

He could've put a shirt and tie on, bad form.

He didn't say anything, but some people see negativity in everything.

I think the coyness element from Tyrone (and Buendia) comes simply from the fact that neither of them have contributed on the pitch, and this was a celebration of what happened on the pitch.  I'm sure they've been involved in the background and at Bodymoor, but ultimately, as a professional, it must have felt a bit weird being on stage when you haven't played.

I didn't read anything into it about timescales for return, merely a reflection of how much they probably felt they "personally" contributed to the success this season.

I think it's a combination of his personality and feeling a bit bashful because the team's had an amazing season but he wasn't able to provide a meaningful contribution to it.

It should be the film of speeches including a few words from Tyrone and his name check from SJM and SUE, thanks to andyh in the Champions League thread ( that sounds brilliant 🤩).

Edit: It’s actually the link to andyh’s post, but it works!

Maybe.  It could also be him thinking that if he was playing he'd have prevented a lot of the goals we conceded from set plays which would have possibly put us in an even better position.  He's been massively missed this season.

Yes I included that in giving Ty the front page of the topic as nothing had been said so I thought open discussion again

Thank you

I think it is right to see him on the front pages as i call it , of the main  service board.
He was invited up to the stage during the aways ceremony, and it was an unbelievable delight hearing him speak, and the supporters were all yelling for Tyrone Mings. Profanitys part of the chant!

He's such a great sports ambassador isn't he! He even reminded to mention Hause when Ginny was doing Captain's speech bout Ty , baby Jacob and himself as players that have been here since our climb from the Championship.

Ty is a class act. Stevie G ego was obviously very threatened by him disgrace how he treated him.
But the club value him highly as we know he's a true gem.

So there anyone in attendance who could provide us with additional information or insight? I wasn't there and only had the specifics from TyMings' on official website. Overall, it was great to have him speak on the very special occasion!

I'm slightly concerned that Ty is so circumspect about his return.  From wearing a t-shirt saying 'Don't ask when I'm back' to being a bit evasive last night.  I was hoping to hear stuff like I can't wait to play next season or looking forward to pre-season etc.  I guess he doesn't want to tempt fate, but it seems a bit odd that there's no timescale even mentioned.

I wonder if Ty is considering coaching, that may explain the coyness about a return date?

There must be an ambassador role for when he eventually finishes if he's not to take on any  coaching, but Mings has always stated that he is more than just a footballer.  And has several businesses interests and causes that he's involved in

Of course, with Pau at Villa playing the same position, it is interesting to see with Mings' how it all evolves. Without him, the squad lacked on-field presence and aerial dominance but we still finished fourth.

The thing is, Pau Torres is an football player. He's Emery favourite. He improves the team's playing style, and able to progressive carry ball and distribution better than anyone else in the defence and one of not the best in the Prem. And whilst Mings improves our defence it's the question remains on his role now.
