Our best centre back since Martin Laursen.

I see Ty had a little dig back at Horseface re his call-up to the England squad, saying he was a little confused at his re-selection as he feels he has been playing better for months now.

I'm sure Gareth will explain all.

Probably ask him to ‘look him in the eye’!

I don't think Mings has done himself any favours there. Southgate always comes across as incredibly thin-skinned and petty.

Nah, he'd need to tread carefully, the last manager to have beef with Mings was down the Job Centre not long after.

We can but hope.

After the match on Sunday I wandered back through the park to the car. We'd hung about for a good while after, playing football and stretching legs before the journey.

As we walked through the park a guy started chatting and asked if we wee happy.. Obviously got a big yes. Anyway, he was really pissed off. He was a steward and had been stressed as it had been busy... He explained that he was fucked off as one of the players hadn't followed instructions and had engaged with the crowd and invited people on to the pitch..... You can imagine who he was talking about..

Did he say "it was like a return to the dark ages!"?

Yeah, seemed a fairly pointed dig at Southgate. I guess getting called up for post season games v Malta and North Macedonia is a bit of a pain really. England's youth teams would beat them. Better to be in the squad than out.

Maybe he's got his eye on a three week holiday in the Maldives instead. Couldn't say I'd blame him!

Comment probably betrayed the frustration at knowing that no matter how well he plays or how badly Maguire plays, he will be still be on the bench.

If only… He is one of the few in the squad with real leadership qualities and a big part of our recent success.
