I don't think Maguire has managed to avoid the Captain moniker.

He didn't seem to have a problem with Young, Kamara or any other of our other black players. Our other black players weren't in the media talking about BLM. I think Gerrard wasn't a fan of what Tyrone did in his spare time.

There are a great number of people in this country who have no problem with people of other races as long as they shut their mouths and know their place.

The only reason I could fathom that was due to the size of his ego, Gerrard wanted to bring Mings down a peg or two. I don't believe it was anything other than that. Tyrone is immensely popular both on and off the pitch and I think he was jealous. It sounds ridiculous but has anyone else got a better explanation for that look me in the eye cobblers?

I think it was definitely a case of him picking a fight with the incredibly popular club captain to try to stamp his authority on the club, particularly given he had a pretty lukewarm reception.
