All I can now see is a split changing room.

How so?

I got dropped a couple of times back in the day and it stung like fuck, I fucking hated it. I wouldn't talk to anyone and felt like every teammate had betrayed me. The ego is a fragile thing.
almost impossible not to feel resentful.

I'm generally (I think) a level headed bloke and embrace the team ethic, but yeah, the resentment is hard to swallow down.

The manager just wanted to go in a less bulbous direction, Lee. That's the modern game for you.

I was back from a broken kneecap and had been in a cast for 4 months, anyone is going to be carrying a bit after that. Reinvented myself as a target man and came back stronger though, maybe that's what Tyrone should do

Sniper's wet dream.

Mings is nursing a groin injury

And there you have it

Ok, so do you now have to 'look the manager in the eye and tell him you're ready to play' once you're over an injury? Seems a strange protocol.

Gerrard probably thinks you should just get on with it, niggle or no. Like he did when he had his hip done.

Probably took the off-field behavior into consideration. I mean what self-respecting footballer spends his spare time at the caravan?

Look, we didn't get the caravan this year and I'm still sore about it, ok? It's too soon

The good times, there was a positive vibe in the air . Makes me quite sad watching this. With the journey we've been on from the championship I think fans will back Tyrone over Gerrard every time and I'm expecting his name to be sung by the Holte End on Saturday.

I remember those times, that was before you showed up on here, wasn't it?

'The fans' will back the manager when results and performances warrant it.  If we'd have won last Saturday I doubt this thread would've been so popular.  The fact he's made a point of dropping Mings (and the talked about the fact in his media stuff) and given the captaincy to McGinn is a massive risk to SGs future as a top manager if we turn out shite like we did last weekend, regardless of whether those two players were the main cause (which in my view isn't true anyway).   He must've known that, but decided it was worth it anyway.

After training and doing some tactical work behind the scenes with coaches Gerrard should be spending his evenings this week ironing Ming's shirt in preparation for Saturday. He should present it to him in a glass frame Saturday morning and promise to not do it again (until we buy someone better).

Mings would probably drop it. :)

Not sure how true this is but apparently our win percentage without Tyrone is 10.4%

I think it's just those who don't rate Mings highly point out every error to a degree they wouldn't with players they do rate. That's not a dig at anyone in particular as I've done the same with players I've not been keen on. It's a chosen discourse with some wanting to point out failings and others (like me) over-focusing on his skills.

Mings is no more error prone than any other top centre back. He's imperfect but an international class defender. Whisper it, even McGrath made the odd mistake, and that's before we get on to the assorted Scandi's and Back Four Brick Shitehouses we (me included) have lauded.

Absolutely 100% on the money for me.

The bloke sat behind me last season one game counting out loud every perceived ‘mistake’ by Mings would not have happened with Konsa or Cash even though that same game both made way more errors. Absolute plank of a bloke

Mings still won't shag you.
