I think Tyrone Mings will make a great manager and is a true leader.
The treatment of our former captain who's been behind our promotion and recent success is disgusting

I think he'll do something else once he quits playing. Just a hunch.

I rate Mings as a defender more than I rate Gerrard as a manager.

Watch him start next week and drop a collosal clanger! Should make for fun reading on here 😂

A player has been put on the bench, oh the humanity.

We should be praying not just for Mings but the future of our football club. With Purslow there and with Stevens ego we are in a real bad place. Worse than I expected . Nobody seen yesterday coming the players look demotivated and lost

I was rather hoping that once Barney left, Fred would soon follow. :(

Mock me all you want but usually I'm right in the end you're just holding on for hope. We lost 2-0 against Bournemouth who could barely put a side out they're so short.

We've made one of the most influential voices on and off the pitch look stupid and it's all down to the management. It's an absolute disgrace

Mings back,el Ghazi on the bench  and a major week to buy a proper striker who can find the net

Huge week ahead

Mings on the bench: fair enough.

I think the point some people are trying to make is: SG is making straightforward decisions (e.g. drop Mings) into something much bigger, treating the player with no respect whatsoever. I find his way of doing it bizarre and pisspoor management at best and damaging to the club at worst. Not good at all.

I'm baffled by this approach by the manager. If he doesn't want Mings at the club then put him on the transfer list like any other player. What he has done appears rather spiteful and vindictive and make me think that it's a clash of personalities rather than anything to do with the players ability.
Mings is certainly not our best player, but you know what you get with him, he's done a pretty good job at CB with us, has won England caps during his time at Villa and doesn't often let the side down.
Bringing in competition at CB is fine but don't publicly trash someone who's been a stalwart in the squad.
I do think SG has made this personal: there is something about asserting himself above the stronger characters in the squad, and I think it will - unfortunately - result in a high-profile departure. Probably Mings.

Praying for the future of the football club is OTT, especially when you compare where we are now to summer 2018 but he is right that the players looked demotivated and lost. Gerrard’s ego? Not sure, maybe, maybe not as we don’t really know what happens behind the scenes but time will tell. On the face of it though the player he seems to have had a bit of a spat with has never been known to be trouble before.
