It sounds like Mings has had a sulk. Hopefully the splinters will have rearranged his priorities and his focus will be back for next week.

That's my take on it as well.

We really need Mings for his height and talking.  He is miles better than Konsa.  That said, I honestly think that Gerrard would sell so he can keep reshaping 'his' squad.

Then something changed from Gerrards comments in the pre match presser.

Mings attitude perhaps. He was an injury doubt so maybe something around his preparation. People can have bad weeks at work. It happens, he's probably disappointed which is ultimately a good thing as at least he's invested. I'd be surprised if he doesn't start against Everton.

You can question Mings ability, but not his attitude. I'd be very surprised if that's the reason. He comes across as one of the most professional players we've had in recent times. But we'll probably never know.

"He's come to see me, he's accepted my decision, he's trained well, that's why he's back in the team" will probably be next weeks line.

First of all, I’m still in the Gerrard “in” camp but stripping Mings of the captaincy and then dropping him is a big mistake in my view. Some are saying that Mings makes too many mistakes and loses concentration too often but show me a CB anywhere who doesn’t. For me he’s still our best CB

You can still be a professional and be human. You can have the hump and just not be with it at work. When the difference is fine percentages, it will have a big impact on your ability to play. We don't have to make it such a huge drama.

He's lost the captaincy and his place in the team. He's bound to be a bit hurt. I'm surprised he made the bench.

I think Tyrone has handled the treatment dished out to him very well.  Knowing him you would expect nothing less.

Saying someone "needs to come and look me in the eye" implies a little bit more than having an off few days in training due to being disappointed.

Implies a requirement for honesty. Mings saying he's fine when he is likely not.

Mings is internationally synonymous amongst racist dickheads now with mistakes

I hope you weren't implying I'm a 'racist dickhead'?

If you like Mings, that's fine but we're allowed to talk about his mistakes/strong points, certainly without being implied to be racist.

None of us know, it’s just speculation but to my mind if there has been any sort of falling out then it should be kept in house, it’s poor man management to make it a topic for gossip.

Exactly, SG should not have made those comments publicly.

I'm more of the opinion that Gerrard is trying to stamp some authority at Mings expense, rather than Mings very publicly saying he's fine with it, but actually not being fine with it.
