But he's an England international centre back?

I’d say Mings has helped us win more points than he has given away and helped us to get to where we are today since he’s arrived. The criticism I get sometimes, it’s the anger along with the criticism he seems to attract more than anyone else, which I really don’t get. I know why, and you do too.The Leeds fans the other night. How many shite centre halves have happily plied their trade in the top flight down the years? I don't recall Richard Stearman, for example, getting serenaded in such a way.An eloquant black man who is unafraid of speaking his mind and calling out issues is a threat to these ignorant, reactionary pricks.Perhaps...if it was Harry Maguire I suspect it would have been the exact same though. High profile players always get slagged off more, look at the grief Grealish gets at every away ground. Konsa was having a stinker but wasn't getting serenaded. It's far too easy to throw out the racist angle. Mings unlike some of the others mentioned, let's things get to him during a game. It's a chink in his temperament. Bamford, Wellbeck, Zaha and Joelinton last season, he hates getting rattled physically or mentally by opposition forwards. The Leeds fans the other night definitely got to him too. After a bad mistake for the first, the smart thing is to settle things down and try sort out with Konsa how to stop the might of Dan James. Let others do the ball playing. Mings did the exact opposite.I think what was unfortunate for Mings is the interview before the game. As sometimes happens he went out to have a stinker afterwards and the Leeds fans were obviously loving it. Good thing for him is that Saturday is a chance to put things right.

Come off it. It doesn’t even need saying. Sure being high profile means you become a target, but the way he was targeted. What was the chant “Tyrone Mings he talks shite” I think? It stood out like a sore thumb, the very thing to have a pop at him for! If he was as consistent and smooth in his football playing as he is statesmanlike and diplomatic in a correctly challenging way in what he says, we’d be terrified of him being snapped up by a higher flying team in the next window. I couldn’t help but think every time I heard it, that’s the last thing objectively you’d have a pop at him about (unless you haven’t quite grasped that BLM is inherently saying All LM and frankly are quite likely to be unsettled by an eloquent black man). You’ve got to hope he can take that kind of wind up as a compliment that he’s ‘living rent free in their heads’ as I believe the modern expression goes, and perhaps to have triggered that fanbase is the top flight equivalent of a musician getting banned from apartheid South Africa, seeing it as a badge of honour.
Ha! Well then ignore my post entirely 😅

I agree Simon. Today we watch football and everything I suppose in the minutest of detail. We have numerous angles and replays of every event, scrutinized on social media and places like here. But even the greats made mistakes. We just don’t always remember them or a way of easily recalling them. Mings isn’t one of the greats but he’s certainly a very good CB at PL level who makes the odd error in amongst some excellent commanding play. He needs better protection as much he needs to improve aspects of his game. A proper DM will help a lot in my opinion and improving his relationship with Digne on that side.
