Wonder if the Austrian said something that he took a dislike to and he snapped?

One thing for certain, the defence was completely at sixes and sevens once he went off. There was nobody taking charge and bellowing to the other players.

Sam Shutyourface on commentary was pissed off with Mings going off as he then had to find someone else to unfairly criticise.

I think he tried to ‘do’ Ty earlier in the game.
He actually watched Mings come in for a header, but instead of challenging he went in underneath. Similar to rugby’s taking a player out in the air

Or Harry "fuckin 'ell, ref" Kane. Mings had been in a battle all game with that big lump.

Tyrone makes an appearance in this, talking about his experience of racism and how the first Villa game of Project Restart gave him a platform to make a stand. 38 minutes in.

I'll just say this about Tyrone Mings. Everyone is allowed an opinion on him as a player and as a man. But in my opinion, aside from being a a very good player, is that he really is a massive credit firstly to himself and his family but to Aston Villa and society in general with some of the positions he takes and has taken. I've only read snippets, but his comments from today's press conference are just very mature, resolute and frankly inspiring. His life experiences have shaped the person he has become and allows him to have such a broad perspective of not just the game but of his role outside of it. We are very lucky to have him at our club.

Agreed. Great leader and amazing to think he’s arguably not even our best centre-half.

Great post TV and completely agree.

It was great to see that Tyrone is also brave enough to call out the Home Secretary. He could easily have dodged the question but he stood his ground and made his point.

That last bit stood out to me most as well Andy. He didn’t just toe the line or feel any sense of privilege in speaking to a senior member of government. And it really did highlight the position of the government which in large part empowers all those individuals who take a contrary position on the symbolism of the knee, but also the wider issue of systemic racism.

Looks like it's been spun to pit him against Priti "Vacant" Patel.
