His errors certainly stand out and more so for a defender. Last night we could also question where Targett was or why nobody else picked up Martial’s run. It wasn’t all Mings’ fault.Good points.El Ghazi didn’t track back, Targett got done by the clever Rashford flick, Tyrone got done by the flight of the ball and Konsa wasn’t tracking Martial. Blaming Mings is scapegoating of the highest order. It was a soft goal all round.Surprised you didn't mention McGinn letting Pogba chip the ball over him in midfield to start the move...It wasn't Cafu that skated down our wing though, it was the bang average AWB who can't cross a decent ball to save himself. There is one forward in the box. Mings is in a decent starting position at the front post but instead of opening out his body for a routine clearance with his right foot, he tries a circus act of a header which he makes a mess of and costs us a goal. At the root of this is once again his complete inability to trust using his right side. It's the reason he won't ever be a top defender, he is as one sided as Conor Hourihane is. Most of his mistakes are down to the lack of trust he has on using his right foot to even clear the ball, not to mind using his foot he isn't even comfortable turning his body onto his right side, it's like he loses balance when he tries. That's not easily fixable.

Yes we have always liked to find a scapegoat in our team however well we have been playing. The error if indeed there was one was the fact that McGinn was providing the cover on the cross and basically running in treacle. A faster player may have got a block in but that is where the damage was done.
The goal came about primarily because we did not track the runner out wide who eventually put the cross in. With our policy of playing the full backs fairly tight into the centre of the field other teams know there is space out wide to get runners into. Therefore it is imperative that these are tracked. If no one tracks them, then we are in trouble.
Ahh how the mighty have fallen. From “confirmed as even more awesome” to “not even the best central defender at the club” As has been pointed out on here he wasn’t the only one at fault for the goal. The cross was at an awkward height and IMO he made the right choice by attempting to head clear. It didn’t work but there have been hundreds of occasions when it did. If you want to see an overrated CB then look no further than the lumbering idiot at the other end that night. I know who I’d rather have in our team

He made a huge difference, I think he's still finding his feet in the PL though, everyone is prone to the odd error. The mistakes that annoy me are the ones like his spat with Zaha, that was stupid. And the one, forgot which game, where he went down outside the opposition box looking for a foul and stayed down. While the other team almost went up the other end and scored.

Destroyed by Wellbeck too. At fault for the Salah goal v Liverpool. Poor in the defeats v West Ham and Southampton. I seem to recall a brain fart v Arsenal when he went running with the ball across the box that nearly led to a goal. Sent off v Palace. It's long past the stage of odd errors with Mings.
