What’s the latest on Chester? I also think Hause should get a chance first, but the fact he’s apparently so unloved by Smith does give me pause.

We aren’t fit enough to constantly make the short runs into space that the defenders need to play out from the back. It’s as simple as that

Is there a question mark over the fitness coaching methods? It's the same most weeks that the team look tired after about 70 minutes. That is a worry going into the New Year.

I'm not sure whether it's fitness levels necessarily or whether it's the fact that we are so careless in possession that we are constantly having to chase around to recover mistakes and the fact that most teams are just more comfortable in possession than we are.

Leicester yesterday were exceptional at keeping the ball, passing it around and moving it on. We make so many simple passing mistakes.

Confidence has a lot to do with it I guess.

Caught in possession again yesterday before he went off - like many others have said, he needs to get back to basics.

But, I'm not convinced dropping him is the answer - I know Engels has been out for a while but with him and Konsa together at the back you could've driven a coach and horses between the two.  I fear for our goal difference long-term without Mings in the team.

Yeah Mings seems to do these ponderous twists and turns on the ball that invite pressure and lead to dodgy passes. Happens at least once a game.

Mings hasn't looked right for some time to me, might be a good time to be without him in a weird way.

I always prefer a like for like replacement at CB, so Hause being left footed would be my choice alongside either Konsa or Engels

I'd be tempted to give Hause a run at left back.  He looked good there last year, and he can't possibly be as shit as either Targett or Taylor.  That position has been an absolute graveyard for us over the last ten years or so.

Hope the injury isn’t too bad, he only misses a couple of games and he reassesses where he’s at and sorts his form out.

I think the games coming up are the right sort for Targett, games against teams around us where we should dominate possession at home at least, so I'd keep him in and unfortunately I think Ming's will miss a couple of games so that's where Hause should slot in.

10 years? I would argue Charles and Delaney were the last two consistently decent ones there but they were both injury prone.

They were right backs though. Bouma was our last decent left back.
