If this isn’t done by midweek then it will never happen imo

My view is for what it’s worth is that we will either sign Tyrone Mings or we won’t.

My view is we will be forever trapped in an endless fawning limbo loop.

Just think if he’s not in by the time we go the states then it won’t happen. That’s just opinion led and nothing else

Don't know the Bournemouth situation in detail, but if Ake is likely to go, though it is entirely possible that a deal for Mings to Villa could be pretty much there but not announced until they someone to announce - perhaps two players.

If behind the scenes everything looks sorted, then Villa might agree to a timing to suit Bournemouth - not huge but their might be a few moans if they sell two central defenders and don't announce one or more replacements.

Bournemouth returned to pre-season a week ago and whilst Mings might have been given a few more days as he finished later last season - he has started doing fitness work away from Bournemouth. A player keen to establish himself back in that side might decide to make an return earlier than expected to make a good impression.

No insight, just an opinion. UTV.

i thought this would be the easiest transfer of this window - a mutual claret and blue love in, turning into a shoe-in. But it is dragging ominously onward - not helped, I suppose, by this matching clause thing, which could see it being a deadline day deal, but for the lack of other suitors.

Lets not forget they already signed a replacement for Mings in January when they got Mepham, that's why Mings was allowed out on loan.

Eddie Howe and at least some of the Bournemouth players have been pictured doing their local parkrun this morning.  I've looked carefully and can't see Tyrone among them.  In my opinion, an opportunity missed on his behalf to further antagonize their support.  He could have dug out his play-off final kit and run in that.

They're probably going to sell Ake in this window though.

Indeed, but I just don't think it matters, deciding he was surplus and loaning him out to the championship to keeping him and offering enough game time that he won't be asking to move on is a massive swing and I just can't see it happening. If Ake is going they look to replace him with a new signing, if nothing else the club must know that a lot of the fans are upset with Mings.

He's still on extended leave after the play-offs.
