That’s a disgraceful shot from Dickey to play 2nd ball. An absolute piss take.

Revers sweep is a valid shot………when you are playing T20.

It's like we do well for a little bit, then the Aussies go, "scuse me mate, we'd like a wicket" and England go, "oh, sorry, here, have two".

Crawley played well, but that Brook shot was just dumb Test cricket. They were really under pressure and he plays a really low percentage shot. It was entirely the wrong length.

To qualify that, I don’t mind the reverse sweep but you’ve got to realise when it’s not on.

Brook's wicket was the nadir for me. I was listening to TMS and Agnew was more than polite in describing an absolutely appalling surrender. Careless, unprofessional, arrogant, total lack of respect for himself, his team mates and the supporters. And indeed the game itself and it sums up the whole tour.

I think that’s probably a bit far - now that my emotional reaction has tempered a bit I think it’s unfortunate it was the wrong ball, but the tactic of using the reverse sweep had worked well at putting Lyon off his rhythm. It looks bad, but it wasn’t “dumb” like I said it was.

Reverse sweeps just always look bad when it gets you out.

Oh for sure, but had they not been using them well before that then they probably would have been pinned down before that. The other frustration today was they actually bowled a decent length, didn’t rush to short-ball plan, and unsurprisingly looked a hell of a lot better.

Does make it look a bit like they’ve been underprepared.

It seems to me that the bunch of mates going on tour has been taken too far. the lack of preparation , then after defeat it was more important to give the lads a break rather than play a pink ball game. Not dropping out of form players and sticking with the clique. It is why there has to be a distance between management and the team in organisations, sometimes difficult and uncomfortable decisions have to be taken for the collective good. i think that has somehow been lost with this England set up.
