We now really need this pair to see out the rest of the day.

Pope can't last much longer in the team because it's the same every series, he starts with a decent score and then teams figure him out and he's a waste of a spot for the rest of it.

Pope has to go now by the way.

Let’s see Brook chuck it away now.

Crawley playing with the air of a man who knows that his 70 in the first innings guarantees his place in the team for the next 12 months.

He, Pope, McCullum.and Stokes (as captain) have to go. This is so far from being remotely acceptable.

It’s only Duckett that seems to be got out at the moment, virtually every other wicket is given away.

This pitch is fine, bit of variation, but largely playing fine.

You know how in majors tennis, some players 8f they are trailing in a set, basically write it off and go half-arsed in order to concentrate on giving 100% in the next set?

Sometimes I feel England are like that in test matches, especially down under. As soon as it looks like too much of an uphill task they just chuck the towel in.

I don't think it's chucking the towel in. We're just really shit down there, pretty much without fail.

Bang on PW - although i think their lead will be closer to, or may be a little over 200. The first session seems to be the easiest time to bat and with four wickets in hand it's party time. they scored close to 120 in the session this morning didnt they? and that was with getting Archer out and having three maidens first up.

Yeah, they'll pile on the runs and it will be all over before close of play tomorrow is my bet.

Looking good for this

Its not a particularly good Australian team this time though. They've had to do nothing else, but just wait for the arrogance and lack of application to kick in from our players.

No Cummins or Hazelwood, and Lyon has bowled 3 overs in the first two tests, and England have still managed to bat this badly......

It's going to end up three test series out there going forward.
