Please use your brain Brook.

Gets a start and then goes. England are doing ok but giving wickets away just when Aussie need them to. Need Stokes and Root to really put on a partnership.

He is an amazing talent but he has a terrible sense of the importance of the moment. This is right on the edge here.

Whats really annooying with his centry at edgbaston v India he showed some sense - but that seems to be the exception that proves the rule.

Seems to have no concept of anything beyound the ball he is facing

The pitch here looks better but with the pink ball and floodlights I think 300-350 is about par.

The next hour with this pair batting in twilight is probably the key to a good/bad innings.

Through the session. That end part was tough, we really need to try and see Starc off.

Got to get miles in their legs and build a score.

The ball is soft and the Aussies are desperate to have it changed. The floodlights are little excuse for me. Bat sensibly and England should be in a decent position.

Cue 2 wickets in the first 10 minutes after the break....

Whether the selection of Jacks was the correct call will be determined now.
