See you in Perth! I set off on Monday!
Great. You're not flying Emirates from Brum by any chance are you?

Qatar Airways from Brum.

I’ll be watching Villa v Leeds at the Globe I think as Barmy Army HQ and my hotel nearby

Agree about Potts I think he's definitely got something. Hoping to get out for tests 4 and 5 - tickets the current problem. Anyone got any going spare ? Or have any experience of using Ticombo as they seem to have some knocking around at reasonable prices.
Also just discovered that England u-19's are starting a series against WI on Sunday in Grenada where I happen to be on holiday. Not sure my missus is entirely convinced this a complete surprise to me and we just chose this island because we both love it.
Great island, Grenada. Give my regards to the Umbrellas and the Aquarium. Off tomorrow to Perth for the first test Bali in between and then Brisbane.

See you in Perth! I set off on Monday!
Safe travels both. And enjoy ! Get a win so my trip later in the series won't be in vain.

Thanks Chris.
Crown Hill, game kicks off 10pm perfect time after a day at the Test match. We are on the same street, Wellington, so prob the Globe it will be.

India came undone after setting up a spin friendly wicket, only to discover that SA have some, ehmm  spinners.

Pre series optimism is here so fully expect to wake up tomorrow and England are 150 for 8 or Australia are 120-1.

I know what you mean! I read somewhere that we have won just 9 tests in Oz since 1980 and four of these were when the Ashes had already gone. I’m an optimistic realist though.

There are only 3 living England captains to have won the Ashes in Australia, Mike Brearley 78-79, Mike Gatting 86-87 and Andrew Strauss 10-11, I'm tipping Stokes to become the 4th.

I think 5-0 Aus or 4-0 if it rains a lot in Sydney. Our batting is too brittle, plus I think a fair few of the pitches are drop-in puddings aren't they? So that would favour their more experienced bowlers, with that bit more nous.

I would put them into bat if we win the toss regardless of conditions, in part because we're strong and fit bowling and they have potential weaknesses in the top order, and in another part because I have visions of 26-3 if we bat first and me being in bed by 3.

Yep I think whoever wins the toss Aus will bat and that’s what I’m expecting - well hopefully not the 300 bit because I’ll be up before 6 probably!
