Root has 21 Test hundreds in the last 4 and a half years, nuts.

He would need 25 more test hundreds to get ahead of Tendulkar though.

14, no? Root is on 38, Tendulkar got 51.

Edit: now understand that you mean numerically to surpass the runs total, not number of centuries. Apologies.

One innings has turned this from a tight series into India being desperate to pack up and go home.

Stokes and Root, honestly. We're going to miss them more than we can imagine in a few years' time.

Root will be around a good while, injury permitting.

Same with any truly world class players though. In Brook and Bethell I think we potential replacements for them both.

On the match, I glad for Woakes getting those 2, I think he's deserved a bit more luck than he's has so far.

Liam Dawson is the pefect number 8 batter, now let's see if he be as effective in his day job.

Disappointing not to win from such a strong position. Bowling attack without Stokes looks toothless.

Oval selection will be interesting. The bowling attack is on its knees.
