Proper test match batting so far from England's top 4.

Could be a different story after the break, but Pope and Root should be looking at big scores here and to grind the Indians down.  The next two sessions could decide the series.

Jinxed that one. No idea why they waited so long to bowl Sundar.

He quite often does that when there’s been a break in play.

Yep, lazy shots like that are a big part of why he's under pressure for his place and has a pretty poor average of 35.

Poor from Brook as well, he also has a habit of those braindead moments at times.

Yeah Brook is a brilliant player, but he makes odd choices at times.

I don’t think he necessarily senses situations well - it’s drifting loads, new ball soon, you’ve got a responsibility.

India make loads of tactical missteps. Why don't they bowl this Washington bloke more?

I think it's an ego thing, he seems to NEED to get on top of every bowler as soon as possible so if someone is bowling well he has to try to bat them out of the attack.

He should look at how his captain has adapted his approach in recent years and play the situation accordingly.  He has had some very rash dismissals recently

Stokes has retired hurt, hopefully it’s nothing more than a bad case of cramp.
