Lovely to see, he looks like the old Jof.

We need the others to back it up.

Early days but I really hope Jof has 2/3 years of uninterrupted (with plenty of rest) Test cricket for Jof. He absolutely still has it, he is wonderfully talented and just such a star.

Would be nice wouldn't it.  He is a joy to watch, so reminiscent of some of the greats that have come from the Caribbean - effortlessly smooth glide in to the crease and then genuine pace.  Would love to see him feature heavily in Australia in the winter.

Fully agreed, both.

15 overs lost yesterday. The amount of stoppages and timewasting was just ludicrous. Then once again just walking off at 6:30 despite great weather.

I actually think now that the ICC should fine the umpires too for poor over rates. They wouldn't let teams get away with the crap they do now.

Both sides in the current test are guilty of this; ball changes, drink breaks that are too long, treating injured players on the pitch when clearly they need to go off for treatment - both captains have been guilty of this in this test - and when was the last time a test player was given out timed out? It strikes me that players take longer to get to the middle at the fall of a wicket than ever before. As for a drinks break at around 6.10pm last night that was farcical.

I pay a lot of money to watch test cricket and I’m getting short changed and the problem seems to get worse every season.

They can manage it in white ball cricket which are both time limited, maybe it’s time to introduce something similar in test cricket.

I know it's hot but........

a) I've watched cricket in Colombo - so let's talk about hot, and
b) £180 to be 15 overs short of the days allocation (1/6th of the total) is a disgrace.
Umpires are totally ineffective - probably scared of upsetting India as they run the game.
Until they start refunding the spectators for overs lost nothing will change.
Fines get picked up by sponsors / world ranking points don't hurt enough.
If the host venue has to directly refund the ticket purchaser - easy done as it's all on card - they'd soon be putting pressure on the players to get a move on.
There was a five minute delay today when Shubman Gull felt a thigh injury and lay down to have a massage on the pitch. Umpires just need to usher him off get a sub fielder on and get on with the game.
We're lucky in the U.K. a day at the test is in demand. Not the same anywhere else.

England are as bad as any for it. I went to the first day at Edgbaston and it was noticeable the lack of urgency they had getting round at the end of an over. The only time they tried to up the pace was when they realised how few overs they were going to get with the new ball.

The simplest thing is to change the stupid regulation that you can only play 30 minutes over. The last 2 days have been glorious and easily could have played another hour. 22 overs just lost from the game.

Not a surprise really. The bowling attack is pretty poor

It’s not that straightforward, the pitch is easier now and the ball is very soft.

That run out could be key. They needed a bit of magic.

Having played so well throughout the session, that was absolutely terrible decision making by both the Indian batters.  Totally unnecessary risk taking.
