Disagree, the bigger the better for me. The second biggest sport on Earth should be in there. I think it could be great to spread the game to non-Commonwealth countries, too.

Regardless, read that the Indian broadcasters give the IOC something like $20 million for the rights to show the Olympics. It goes up to $120 million once cricket is in. So once it's in, it's staying in. They aren't going to turn down that sort of cash.

Yeah that's a good point, I just think winning an Olympic gold, should be the pinnacle of someone's career, but if you ask tennis players and golfers, what they would prefer to win, they wouuld say any of the majors rather than Olympic gold, as for cricketers they would rather win a world cup than Olympic gold, likewise English and Australian players would rather win an Ashes series.

Maybe, but you'd probably have to get rid of road cycling and boxing on that basis and I think they're both essential parts of the games.

Anyway, it isn't being compared to the Ashes. It's T20, not test cricket. I think it's possible that the Olympics could eventually overtake the T20 World Cup as the biggest event in that format.

Likewise, Olympic gold in rugby isn't the pinnacle of the sport, but it's probably the greatest honour you can win in rugby sevens.

Disagree with Abishek, that it isn’t an upset. It’s definitely an upset, it’s not a “shock” like the USA beating Pakistan, but even though Afghanistan are a proper competitive side now them beating Australia is still an upset.

Some fantastic bowling from Rashid here, the spinners in general have made USA look a bit out of their depth.

USA 67-4 after 11

Rashid 2-10 (3)

Adil Rashid is bowling beautifully, they can’t pick his googly at all.

This is a great over from Jordan, far too good for these. 3 wickets in 4 balls and on his hattrick to the number 11.
