Channel 5 to show four England T20s per summer - https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/articles/c2d509l9g57o

Seems positive.

This bowling performance doesn't bode well for the rest of the summer.

We’ll see it’s not a huge surprise it’s a bit patchy.

Great knock by Bennett.

As long as they’re all fit, the selection for this test is nothing like what our  first choice attack looks like

Bashir has always taken wickets, but lacks the control you want from a top-class spinner.

True, but he's still very young. Most spinners don't really become the sort of player who locks down an end until later in their careers so I think we now need to commit to him and help him get that experience, the raw talent he has is huge and with no one else worth looking at right now I'd like to see him play pretty much every test for the next 18months and then see how he's progressed.

Agreed.

I don't think anyone is pushing him for the place, unless they revert to Leach, which I don't think they will do.

Me too. Bashir certainly creates wicket-taking opportunities. With his height, there's an air of Ashwin about him.

If he masters his control of length he could be a really top-quality bowler.

Not sure I like watching the West Indies get beaten in such a fashion for second year running at Edgbaston. They really never got going at all and England blew them away, although they do have quality if inexperienced players. England were fantastic though.

Today was the sort of resuult you sometimes get if the team batting first puts on a big total, the scoreboard pressure makes the opposition play much riskier shots from the start. If it works they get a massive partnership or 2 early on and take control. If it doesn't you get a steady stream of wickets and a huge defeat. I only watched bits but from what I saw Brook and Bethel were exceptional.

Almost in response to myself from Thursday this from the west indies is much more what you'd expect. They've got lucky with a few drops (the one Mahmood dropped was truly awful) but have shown that they're a much better team than that display. I reckon we're going be chasing 340-350 here.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bethell play.  I haven't seen a lot of him.

What an innings from Joe Root.
