And we have declared, gives us around 30 minutes at them before tea plus four full sessions to take 10 wickets.

Brook gone for 317 off 322, a remarkable innings regardless of the pitch

So the great Len Hutton's record of 364 runs made in 1938 is safe for now anyway, that was done off 847 balls.

The cricinfo update for that wicket is great:

Quote
Woakes to Abdullah Shafique, OUT
pings out the off stump! My goodness, England are cockahoop! Shafique played all round the length ball, a hint of nip back in at the stumps, but frankly, that was the shot of a man who has been baked in the sun like a capsicum for 150 overs. A stunning sight for any bowler at any moment, but right here, right now... gosh

Session went pretty much exactly as I expected, England piling on a lot of runs very quickly. I expected a 300ish lead but 270 isn't hugely short of that and I can see the benefit of a short session with the ball before tea, as the wicket has shown.

Monumental effort with the bat to get in a position where there is even a slim chance of getting a win.

I still think that a draw is the most likely outcome

England will win tomorrow either by an innings or by knocking off 100 or so mid afternoon.

I think that once the ball loses its initial hardness then we will struggle to get wickets. If the Pakistan bowlers can’t take advantage of home conditions then we will inevitably run out of time to take all 10 wickets.

One thing in our favour is that Pakistan have been very poor in their second innings this year so their confidence is shot. They will be feeling even more demoralised after conceded such a massive total.

However you can ignore everything that I’ve just posted as Atkinson just got Shan Masood with a very soft dismissal!

Now 41-4 this is a dominant performance from England

BBC saying one of their players won't be able to bat today, so only 3 more wickets.
