Wasn't he brought in as an experienced keeper after Nayland was injured when we were down to one keeper.

An odd signing - a signing agreed under Bruce maybe?

That is my understanding of the situation

Yeah, but did you see David Unsworth play against Wycombe?

I saw him and Moreira play.  Do I win?

Sorry, no prize unless you saw Ivo Stas play for us as well!
I claim that prize (nearly) as I saw Ivo on the pitch in a Villa shirt in a youth friendly at Shrewsbury Tech. Whether he played in the 20 odd minutes before he held his hamstring and walked off is a matter of conjecture.

I saw Ivo play for and score for Villa in a pre season friendly at Witney Town. Possibly the first game under BFR. I think Big Ron had gained some coaching experience at Witney whilst still playing for Oxford. There were no stands so we were all stood around the touchline like a parks game. I think we won 6-0 and Ivo was credited with one of the goals, even though he actually hit the side netting and the ball went in through/under the net.

You definitely get 100 I Spy points for that. Well done.
How many I Spy Points would I get for this one PT?

……..Pre season friendly away at Bedford Town circa 1968 - featuring Oscar and Hector Arce, which we lost 0-2 if my memory serves me  correctly

He was a moody keeper he was the only one who very rarely sign autograph's for people which when you think about it kids and people shouting him and he just walks off.

Did anyone see George Best play for us? That would be the winner I think.

There were about five thousand there. I saw that, plus Ivo Stas three times, plus Doug Ellis all playing for us.

That's a good call :)
With regard to Unsworth.... I saw him walking his dog down my road more times than him wearing a Villa shirt (that's Unsworth, not his dog)

Did he score with a bicycle kick?

My faith that Kalinic was going to be the new Cech was shattered somewhat in the 3-0 away blasting at Wigan.  I've never seen a goalie so slow to get down to the ball, it really was like he went down in instalments.

I saw him play at Brentford, where he did well.

Next game, he got concussed and Jed took his place and kept it.

Such are the fine margins.

His very first game gave us a taste of things to come- Alpine glaciers move with more speed.

Strange signing, hopefully he will do well on loan and earn himself a permanent move.
