Somewhat amusingly, "West Brom v Burnley" is trending on twitter. People seem to think they could spend fifteen quid more wisely.

eg by paying someone to hammer red hot knitting needles through their eyeballs.

My sky/BT sports for October has gone from £25 to circa £70 if I paid for our 3 PPV games. I believe Liverpool and Man City only have one PPV game each for October.

You can only watch on one device on sky box office. So can’t share cost.  It’s two devices on bt box office so not so bad.

I cancelled Sky when we moved house, and for watching football now just pay about £30 for 6 months subscription to a dodgy service that has every game.

I read that the money is going directly to the clubs not sky or BT?  Isn’t it to make up for lost match day revenue?

As a pensioner 15 quid a match is more than I pay with my season ticket but obviously without the experience of actually being there.  I'll be exploring other methods of seeing these matches and if that doesn't work I won't bother.

There's a real danger with this that fans just learn to do other stuff at a weekend and this could have long term impact on attendances.

I'll be cancelling Sky sports and finding streams elsewhere. They really can go fuck themselves and the Villa are a joke for for agreeing to this.

It’s not going to sky or BT though is it?  Genuinely at the risk of not getting it it’s a sport that we would ordinarily pay for isn’t it?  It’s only those matches they wouldn’t be on live normally.  The clubs are losing Millions a month in lost revenue.

The Premier League just spent  £200m on agent's fees and more than a billion on transfer fees. Pleading poverty?! Trolololol.

and clubs making redundancies of staff on the living wage is a bit of a disgrace too...

Oh I know yeh but we know we are lucky enough to be funded by squillionaires.  But even they want us to be self sufficient.
