What greater honour can a footballer wish for?

Edinburgh Zoo has named a penguin chick after our fearless captain;

The little thing is absolutely fuming he missed Istanbul.

That's a "signing for Chelsea" smile, if ever I saw one. ☹️

No, that’s a charming cheeky grin, not a shit eating grimace that signing for Chelsea causes.

To be honest, with all the bad news coming in droves this summer,  I saw this McGinn thread pop to the top, and I said, "Oh crap. We better not have sold him now too"

Along with SUE, that's the only loss we couldn't deal with.

Onana's ACL injury was was very quickly disclosed, perhaps access to scanners etc., was better in the USA? I just hope this isn't a serious one, fingers crossed. Our midfield has been decimated again. Such bad luck!

Is there any hint he's out with a serious injury?

He wanted to go back onto the pitch at the time but I am guessing that the knee may have swollen up afterwards and he will need to be assessed, all the usual crap before we are told he'll be out until Christmas.  Bloody hope not though.

We really can't afford to lose another first team player for long periods.

People have started referring to Manzambi as SJM.

OTOH.

Firstly let me confess that I am a complete mug when it come to click-bait articles about the  Villa at this time of year. So, how do I start earning money as someone nobody has heard of by telling them that an unnamed source has suggested that somebody may or should make an offer for an undisclosed amount for one of our players who may or may not be interested in moving to another team who may or may not be able to offer him champions league football or where he may be wanted as cover for an injured star player or blah blah blah..............fucking blah.
And yes, I  know it's all my own fault and I should delete this post to stop anyone from calling me a dozey old prat. But please feel free, I really won't mind
I can't wait for the real football to start. Thank you.
