His first goal celebration was a little inside joke at how Emery colourfully articulated approaching the season step by step.

And the stupid reporter let the cat out of the bag by telling Unai. SJM was reluctant to tell her, he may live to regret it as Unai failed to see the funny side.

I dont like the term legend too much but he definitely is. Just need to win something.

John McGinn holding a trophy aloft would be a sight to behold.

Yes, I don't think Unai appreciates wee jokes in the dressing room getting a public airing.

I think people read too much in to things like this, could you really tell how pissed off he was? He's not the jokey type, but I doubt he gives much of a shit.

“As” or “if”?

I reckon SJM and Emery would have a solid enough relationship to cope with a bit of piss taking.

In a weird way the manager and captain could be a decent double act.  Emery brings intensity and intellect, whereas SJM is all jokes and a carefree attitude yet also dictating the minimum standard for the whole squad.

From a few glimpses in interviews of people in/around, Emery is much more jovial when out of public eye and in the small group of the first team. Wouldn't surprise me if he thought it was funny, tbh.

He just gives nothing away in interviews - probably sees no added value (to the team) in them.

I suspect Emery couldn’t care a less really, because we won and SJM got two goals.

I think Emery would be quite pleased. What he told McGinn to do clearly worked.
