Brilliant player and personality, always gives it everything. One of the best signings of the last 20 years.

I honestly didn’t think he could reach these levels. Inspirational player.

Same here, every year when we buy players, I think that McGinn is probably no longer in our strongest first XI, and every year I'm wrong as he moves up to a level I didnt think he was able to.

I think his performance against Man City in the 1-0 last year was the best individual Villa performance Ive ever seen, and followed by another one recently but I've momentarily forgotten who it was against.

He single handedly drove us on against PSG!

When he’s got the bit between his teeth there’s no one else you’d want in your team.

Quite apart from his performances on the pitch, I love how he always does a bit of a kick-about with his mascot in the centre circle before kick off.

On MOTD after Fulham I actually loved that he mentioned that the crowd were flat after last week (….& they needed to get the job done to lift us & keep working to bring that Champions League spot).

It just showed yet again that he gets it.

Spurs at home in the cup Id say

There was another one last season, at home to Fulham. Run of the mill PL game but he absolutely demolished their guy Palhinha who was being linked to Bayern at the time. Couple of other stand out home games last where he he ruined Dan Burn at left back and whoever Brighton had there.

He's incredibly versatile too. RM is his best position I think but has had many fine games on the left and in the middle on occasion. The likes of Rogers, Ramsey, Asensio all seem to just have one spot.

Dan Burn was playing at left back for Newcastle when he 'ruined him'. Unless that's a separate occasion.

Surely would be high up in the all-time list of best signings, nevermind the last 20 years?

Chunkz is better than all our players put together at taking penalties.

Agreed. Imagine how few players would get away with saying that, yet when it comes from him it's further proof of what an absolute real one he is, the toppest of lads, the consummate G. He's the embodiment of this era for sure.

I liked the "we don't know each others Birthdays because cakes have been banned, the game's gone".
