It looks like the comments about SJM putting on weight can be safely disregarded.

Top class - he really is more than the happy go lucky character we all see him as.

Have you noticed when the teams come out with mascots and after the handshakes etc,
John McGinn takes the match ball and goes to centre circle and plays pass ball with some of the mascots from both sides. As you say, more to the man than football, quality person

Unai just said McGinn has done his hamstring and could be out for 3/4/5 weeks

That's a real shame, and he'll be gutted to miss the Celtic game.

What is it with Villa and hamstrings?

The physios/medics/fitness team need to take a really good look at themselves.

I blame the parents.

On the pre-match thread I said I would have rested him for this one because he was looking tired, this is exactly the sort of thing I wanted us to avoid.

Probably see him in early March then .
We need reinforcements this window even if it's a few short term loans

That's terrible news. I thought the fact he went down so early meant it was more of a precaution. Likes of Ramsey & Bailey need to step up in his absence.

If he's back in 3 weeks he should be available.

It was caused by him when he was robbed of the ball trying to turn his marker. He tried to more hurriedly amend that, more than possibly required. That’s when he pulled up.
