The red absolutely turned that 2-0 into 4-0. When you're down a man you lose one 50-50 and boom, there's the space. Also massive psychologically. I thought it wasn't the most obvious red I've ever seen but that's only because he didn't manage to get his studs out, an insane challenge in the circumstances.

It was stupid but I cut him some slack because it's his physicality and attitude that often wakes-up our slow, passive playing.

Just before the sending-off he was winning free-kicks and taking them quickly to get us in behind their defence.

It’s pretty unforgivable given he’s the captain. Absolutely idiotic.
And yet lots of people were applauding him off as if he had done something really good. One or two near me were even giving a standing ovation. Ridiculous!

Yeah well that’s equally idiotic.

Bad thing to do. Obviously out of sheer frustration. He knows when an important game is slipping away.

Shame that one or two of his colleagues didn’t show the same claret and blue desire and determination today….

Desire and determination isn't measured by a poor tackle and getting the game ended as a contest just after the hour mark. He was shite today, like the rest of them, and had lost his head.

Yeah, we could've got the game abandoned and it'd have gone down as a 0-3 defeat.

Prior to his moment of madness, he was our our lad most likely to make a difference. We're going to miss his urgency a lot til April.

He was playing well in his way, which is energetic and all-action, but he totally lost his head and I don't know why that's somehow better than being lacklustre.

Id rather he was lackluster and not have a red then be a fool that loses his head and gets a three game ban.

Thats the second violent conduct red we have seen this season. Really really not good enough we need to be far more rational
