That over the top ball for Bailey was class. I only saw Watkins ahead of him and I muttered something about the pass when it was clear he had overhit it for Watkins. But then to see it was a perfect ball for Bailey, that was just quality.

He reminded me of Grealish in that clip a little bit.

The cheeky twat commentating on MOTD implied he'd overhit a pass to Watkins.  Which I suppose is technically possible, but there is no way he didn't see Bailey as well.

To be fair, it looked like he had massively overhit it to Watkins, and there were a few groans around the ground. But nobody (including the Man City defence) had seen Bailey steaming through to pick the ball up, and if Bailey had shot to the left instead of the right he'd have scored for sure. But that's half the point of Ollie, even though he had a fairly quiet game, he drew the Man City defenders away and left Leon with a chance.

I'm convinced it was meant for Watkins, but now knowing an Emery side anything is possible.

F365 get it

There are a handful of players whose fitness and availability will help decide the Premier League title race. Rodri is perhaps the most obvious, but Declan Rice, William Saliba, Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and apparently John sodding McGinn are in that next echelon of importance

Nah, fuck it I’m going that it was meant for Bailey. Watkins was the decoy. SJM has superpowers we are now seeing coming to the fore. His passing is at times truly sensational.

The shuffle I mentioned earlier to disguise the pass to Torres is at 50 seconds onwards. As I mentioned even watching it a few times, the pass is still not seen until Torres has it.

I thought he was waiting for someone to come back from an offside position when I first saw it, and then he had to pass it to Torres because he had no option. Watching it back multiple times it does look like deliberate subterfuge.

The bit at around 2.24 when he is surrounded by 3 Man City players and they can’t get the ball from him. Love it

He's really benefitting from the fact that he is the most advanced of 3 out-right playmakers.

We all know how good he is at rolling a defender, and so do opposition managers, so in the past they could setup to handle it but now having a extra player to cover it creates too much space for Doug or Pau who can cause just as much trouble so teams struggle to pick them all up and, generally, 1 of the 3 finds himself in space to pick a pass into the final 3rd.
