Hitz scored all but one from outside the box. However 4 of his were also cup goals. So McGinn is now level.

Does anyone else open these threads on International night expecting a serious injury to have occurred ? And then a massive sigh of relief ?

Apparently SJM went off with a knock to his hip. Why didn't Clarke just play him for 45 minutes? He played the whole match previously. I hate these international breaks. We have a tough run of games coming and don't need these injuries. Hope John is okay....

Apparently, he was joining in with the post-match jollies and seems to be okay.

I would guess that McGinn wants to play every minute of every international match he can, just as probably every professional footballer does. It’s frustrating to pick up injuries but that’s sport, huh?

SSN reporting this morning that’s he’s training on his own today due to niggle picked up on international duty. Fingers crossed ok for weekend.

I would say some professional footballers see it as a duty, whilst others see it as an honour to be relsihed. I'd suggest McGinn's in the latter camp.

All that's left now is an Instagram video confirming his retirement...

Dublin has a lot to answer for.

McGinn has started every League and European match this season. A rest isn't all bad given schedule.
