He's been like a man reborn since he came back from Dublin. Pleased for him.

It’s mad, I really thought last season he has reached a level which was good enough for this league but not enough to be a top level player. He’s certainly proved me wrong and I’m glad to admit it. Back in the division two I thought he was capable to be the best and at times under Smith I still believed, however I lost faith in him under Gerrard.

So happy for him and so happy he’s ours and not producing this form for another team elsewhere.

Thought he was immense in the Chelsea game and played just as well today, especially first half.  What would gutless outfits like Spurs or Chelsea give for a player like that in the heart of their team.

Brilliant today, the stand out player on the pitch today. First foul he did the ref booked him, shambolic officials today.

The ref was a piece of shit, but I think the crown going "oooohhhh" probably help his decision to book him.

As a main man in our promotion season I'm glad he's still here all these years later and thriving under Emery.  If I could pick one current player to score our winner in a cup final it would be him.

Captain's performance, lead by example. 'Super' doesn't do him enough credit, 'Superb' is more fitting but it does work with his song.

The amount of times he got the ball in a tight area and used his arse to get out of it was remarkable. I was shitting it every time but I'm not sure why has he hardly ever loses it in such situations.

Lead by example - couldn’t agree more. A real captain’s performance.

Arguably our most important player at the moment his combative midfield play and use of the ball are driving us on, complemented superbly by Luiz.
SJM should be player of the season.

Good to see meatball back to being the same standard that he showed during our promotion season; one of the best midfielders on the pitch, despite the opposition.

If he, Tyrone, Luis & big Emi finish their careers with us, they will all be major trophy holders and Villa legends, as per the last league/European winning team where.

He is back because he has been unshackled from the constraints the Scouse prick put on him.
The Scouse prick had him playing n a narrow corridor up and down the left side of midfield where he rarely ventured from.
He was shackled, stifled and nearly ruined,
He now has the freedom of the park, he covers every blade of grass, many times over and is back to his brilliant best.

His loss of form and impact was 100% down to the scouse prick and not because SJM isn’t good enough.
